Health Research EXPO (HRE) Seminar 2019

In the context of the Health Research Expo (HRE), which is an annual activity of FK-KMK, a one-day seminar with the topic Data Science Initiative for Health (DASH) was held on Tuesday, 20 August 2019. Larassetyo Wibowo, S.T., M.Sc (Director of Commercial & Development PGNCOM) was appointed as one of the speakers at the seminar.

The purpose of the seminar is to open up insight into the concepts and applications of Big Data as well as innovations in the health sector.

Big Data itself is a collection of large amounts of data originating from various sources and changing rapidly and in various qualities (volume, variety, velocity, veracity). Big data development has started since the 1990s, which then continues to grow rapidly in various fields, such as in government, business, media, information technology, industry, health, and so on.

The benefits obtained from the implementation of Big Data are also numerous, including decision making, effectiveness, efficiency and improving the quality of a product or service.

The seminar is expected to be a medium to introduce the UGM AHS with big data roadmap and data innovation within the UGM FK-KMK environment. In the future, it is hoped that it can become a provider of forums for universities, hospitals, industry, government agencies, and other stakeholders to establish networking in order to advance the development of health big data.
